General Information
Getting to Ravello, Italy
Naples, Italy is the closest major city to Ravello for all trains and flights. Once you arrive in Naples - it will take you about an hour by car to get to Ravello. You can also take the bus, but we would highly suggest taking a car instead for a stress free experience
Once you arrive in Naples, there are two main ways to reach Ravello.
PRIVATE TRANSFER (recommended):
The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. A car for up to 3 passengers is approximately €145, and a minivan for up to 7 passengers is about €200. (Prices may change in 2026.)
If you’d like to book a private transfer, please email our wedding planner, Mariangela, at mariangela@lovestoryitaly.com with your flight or train details once they’re confirmed. We suggest this method or booking through your hotel for a smooth and stress-free experience.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Option 1: Take a direct bus from Naples to Amalfi with Pintour (www.pintourbus.com/en/napoli-amalfi-transfer). This route takes longer than a private transfer as it makes several stops along the way.
Option 2: Take a train from Naples Central Station (Napoli Centrale) to Salerno. Train tickets are around €20 per person, though prices may change in 2026. From Salerno, you can either take a bus or a ferry to Amalfi.
If you choose the bus, the stop is located right outside Salerno Station. Tickets must be purchased in advance at a Tabacchi shop (marked by a big “T”) or through the Unico Campania app, as they are not sold on board. Be sure to stamp or validate your ticket when boarding, as inspectors do regular checks. Buses depart approximately every hour and arrive in the center of Amalfi after about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
If you choose the ferry, tickets are around €20 per person (prices for 2026 not yet available). The port is about a 5-minute walk from the train station—exit the station, cross the roundabout, walk straight toward the seafront, and follow the signs for the Marina and Travelmar. The ferry takes about 30 minutes but does not operate in rough seas or bad weather. Please note there may be a small luggage fee for larger bags.
Arrival + Departure dates
Our first event will be on Friday, June 5th and our last event will be in the afternoon on Sunday, June 7th. We therefore recommend people arrive on Thursday in case of flight delays and depart on Monday. Please let us know if you do not think you will make it to the Friday and/or Sunday events.

Things to do in Ravello
Villa Cimbrone & The Terrace of Infinity
If you only have time for one thing in Ravello, make it Villa Cimbrone's Terrace of Infinity (Terrazza dell'Infinito). A 10-minute walk from the town centre along a quiet lane brings you to these glorious gardens. On a clear day the view stretches all the way to Calabria. The gardens are filled with temples, statues, rose terraces, an ivy-covered cloister, and a grotto. Greta Garbo famously hid here with conductor Leopold Stokowski in the 1930s. Give yourself at least two hours to wander properly.
Tickets: €10
Hours: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Address: Via S. Chiara 26, Ravello
Villa Rufolo
The undisputed crown jewel of Ravello, Villa Rufolo is a 13th-century estate built by the wealthy Rufolo merchant family. Its Moorish-style cloister, twin towers, and sweeping terraced gardens have been drawing visitors for over 700 years. Richard Wagner visited in 1880 and was so moved by the gardens that he used them as inspiration for the magic garden in his opera Parsifal.
Tickets: €8 | Reduced €6 (students & seniors)
Hours: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Address: Piazza Duomo, Ravello
Walking the Ancient Mule Paths
Ravello sits at the heart of a network of ancient footpaths that criss-cross the mountains between the Amalfi Coast towns. The most popular walk is the trail down to Minori (roughly 45 minutes on a pleasant, mostly shaded path), where you can catch a bus or ferry back to Amalfi. Good walking shoes are essential; the paths are stone-stepped and uneven but very manageable.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Cost: Free
Tip: Download the Komoot or AllTrails app (both free) and search "Ravello" for mapped routes.
Taste Wine From 500-Year-Old Vines
The Tenuta San Francesco Vineyard is a must-see! This family-run vineyard is home to grapevines that are 500 years old, and the family is so warm and inviting. They only host small groups, so you will either be alone or with 2-3 other couples and enjoy lots of personal time with the wine-maker. After a tour of the vineyard and the cellars, everyone will sit down to a homemade meal – great wine, great food, great company… what more can you ask for?!
